Your Presentation

Presentation Title

* Please provide a title for your presentation

Presentation Abstract

Please describe the educational content of your presentation. Your proposal must:

  • Clearly define the problem, platform or application (need to save money, need to do more with less, define a new technology, need to further a goal your organization had identified, etc.)
  • Note both the technical and human issues, if applicable.
  • Provide details on selected solution (challenges to implementing, how it works today, return on investment, lessons learned, etc.)

Media Agreement

We require speakers to allow us to share the content of their presentation (e.g. slides and audio) in an educational format to allow individuals who were not able to attend to be able to gain a sense of what was discussed. Please bring your presentation to the registration desk on a thumb-drive which we can keep. We also require speakers to allow us to take photographs, videotape, or digital recordings of the speaker during the conference.

Student Poster Submission Guidelines

Only registered GEO Huntsville Conference attendees may exhibit posters in the Poster Gallery.

Poster Guidelines

Posters should include a map as part of the presentation.

All submitted posters should measure at least 24" x 36", and be no larger than 36" x 48". Posters should be mounted on foam core or gator board backing (or other material to ensure they are self supporting).

To enter, please send a copy of the final poster (.pdf or .jpg file) along with a short narrative describing what is depicted, name and contact information (email and phone), and company or school. Students should also submit their academic level (HS, Undergrad, Grad, etc.).

Posters submitted prior to September 30, 2012 will be listed in the on-site conference program.

Participants are encouraged to submit multiple posters, as long as they cover significantly different content. Group entries are available for multiple participants who wish to display their maps together.

Student Poster Competition

Posters submitted by students will be eligible for cash prizes awarded in the Student Poster Competition. Posters will be judged on cartographic design, information content/communication, technical skill, and innovation/originality. Judging will be by the GEO Huntsville Executive Planning Committee.

Submit Your Poster Abstract

Abstracts of each poster need to be submitted via the online presentation proposal form. Check the box that indicates that the abstract is for a poster presentation and complete the remainder of the information that is required.

Non-Commercial Entries

The spirit of the Poster Gallery showcases your GIS or survey accomplishments and demonstrates how you are using geospatial technology to map, interpret, manage, and improve our world. Entries may not be used as a promotional device for commercial purposes. Any entry that overtly markets a product or service will be disqualified.

Poster Gallery Location

Space is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with no exceptions. Participants who wish to display their posters in proximity to others should register as a group.

At the Conference

Participants must check in at the GEO Huntsville Conference registration table inside the Davidson Center to register their posters. Presenters who do not check in before 10 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2012 may forfeit their display area to walk-in exhibitors.
